Multimedia Festival Poster 2

1. Why is the Poster good or great?
A: This poster is great because it is a professional yet catchy flier that will, if advertised and used correctly, will attract many to come to the multimedia festival. Also this poster blends in with the background picture well, with the text overlapping but never taking away from the poster itself. A combination of all these aspects of the poster is what makes this poster great.
2. Why is this poster better than the last one?
A: This poster is better than the last poster my group created because, it instills a sense of professionalism while also not taking away from the appeal from the original poster. This poster is more likely to attract fans and viewers to the Multimedia Festival.
3. What did you do to create this poster?
A: To create this poster, first the picture was inserted into Photoshop, then text boxes were inserted in and around the picture itself. Also the picture in the background was faded or watermarked into creating a greater appeal.

What was the Photo League's credo? The Photo League's was a documentary photograph
2. What organization did the Photo League separate from?  from the Film and Photo League. 
3. What was the workshop? The workshop was  set of classes, where the teachers  teach their students about  photography. . 
4. Who taught the workshop? Sid Grossman
5. If you were to devote one year of your life to one project, what project is worth your time and energy? I would  devote a year photographing professional dancer   
6. What was the Harlem Document? It was a collaboration between five photographers, portraying Black urban America. 
7. Who started the Harlem Document? Aaron Siskind

10. Who was Lewis Hine (name two significant contributions)?  influenced a change in child labor laws in the United States 
11. Who was Weegee? Weegee was a member of the Photo League. His photographs were based on the hardships of people's lives
12. How did the League change when the Nazis took power? Many of the photographers fled.
13. How did the League change during WWI? The League captured Patriotism and provided support. Many left to help in the war effort
14. How did Didkind change after WWII? He took photographs of social realism and other similar aspects
15. What was the Saturday Evening post? Occured in 1947 a part of the photojournalism field that featured the Photo League's work. 
16. Who was Barbara Morgan? What did she photograph?   a photographer, Who primarily took photos of dancers.
17. What eventually undermined the Photo League? The spread of fascism and the war itself led to the undermine of it
18. What was the "Growing Menace" mentioned in the film?It was the communist and fascist forms of government taking power.
19. Who agreed to serve as President when the League was under investigation? Eugene Smith agreed to serve as President of the Photo League
20. What happened to the Leage? In 1951, the Photo League itself fell apart, many due to war.

Poster Assignment



My group and I attempted to recreate the Bob Dylan at the Q.E. Theatre, Vancouver, 1965 concert poster. I created my poster using Photoshop CS6 and used Camera Raw to convert my photos to gray-scale. My model is Zoheb Khan.
